Good Samaritan Reflects On Catching A Possible Murderer

SPOKANE, Wash. - One week after chasing an assault suspect into the Spokane River, Joshua Gahl talks with KHQ about his role in the murder charge of Avondre Graham.

"It feels pretty great. It's been surreal, but it feels good to be a part of the capture of him," Gahl said.

Thursday, the Spokane Police Department charged Graham with 2nd Degree Murder in the May 2012 case of Sharlotte McGill.

"The bystander who chased down Graham is a hero, he's clearly a hero. Here he is he sees a woman assaulted. He sees a rather large person that was involved in it, he sees blood on her. The guy takes off, he doesn't know what she was assaulted with specifically, but he disregards his own safety to follow this person and phone the police," Major Craig Meidl said about Joshua Gahl's efforts to make sure Avondre Graham did not get away.
