Glitch Delaying Election Results In N. Idaho; Worker Can't Tabulate Votes

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Election officials in Kootenai County in northern Idaho say vote counting problems discovered Wednesday morning are preventing workers from tabulating results.    Chief Deputy Clerk Pat Raffee says the problem occurred about 1:30 a.m. and officials six hours later were still trying to figure out what went wrong.    That means vote totals are unavailable for the presidential race as well as public schools chief Tom Luna's education overhaul initiatives.    The glitch in the county that includes the city of Coeur d'Alene is also preventing results for two county commissioner seats, county sheriff, prosecuting attorney and a measure concerning an optional form of county government.    Raffee says workers don't know which numbers can be relied on.    She says they're not ruling out any possibility to get results, including counting ballots by hand.(Copyright 2012 The Associated Press.
