NEWPORT, Wash. - The
Red Cross is aiding an adult in Newport who lost their home in a fire late
Sunday evening.
Firefighters say
they received a call of a fully involved mobile home fire around 11:20pm on the
south side of the town of Newport. Upon arrival crews saw heavy smoke and flames
coming from the home, but were able to confirm that everyone was out of the
structure safely. Firefighters immediately began a defensive attack and were
able to knock down the fire, however the home is a total loss.
Investigators say
the homeowner was asleep and woke up to a fire in the kitchen and overhead. The
homeowner immediately grabbed their dog and got out uninjured.
