Electric Wheelchair Donated To Theft Victim

SPOKANE, Wash. - Never underestimate the power of our viewers.

Last week Celesta Stout's electric wheelchair was stolen.

Celesta lives in a mobile home park in Hillyard, and because of medical complications, she is not able to leave her home without her wheelchair.

When KHQ viewer Ricki Jones saw the story, she knew she had to help.

She contacted KHQ via email writing that she had a "barely-used bariatric chair this woman can have."

It belonged to her mother-in-law.

We put Ricki in touch with Celesta, and that wheelchair was delivered on Thursday

Celesta told us there are not enough words to express her gratitude.

There is no word on who might have stolen Celesta's original chair, but Spokane police officers are looking into it.
