Dogs Try To Help Find Assault Weapon

SPOKANE, Wash. - Trained cadaver dogs with the Spokane County Search and Rescue team helped deputies Friday afternoon look for the weapon from Thursday's Centennial Trail assault.

After an hour and a half, the dogs could not find that weapon. They searched the entire area, from where the attack happened, to where the attack suspect Avondre Graham ran into the river.

Even thought these dogs are trained as cadaver dogs, but they were not looking for a body on Friday. They are able to smell blood and human scents, so that's what the Sheriff's Department was hoping the dogs could pick up on.

Thursday night, Spokane County divers searched the river for that weapon, but didn't find it. They returned early Friday morning to look again, and still came up empty.
