DEVELOPING STORY: Identity Theft Busts Locally & Nationwide

UPDATE: The Spokane County Sheriff's Office has served four warrants today in the identity theft ring. They plan to serve one more today. There are more than 300 victims across the country in several states. Currently two people are in custody. One is 24-year-old Michael Clarke. He has been booked on four counts of forgery, one count 2nd degree theft, and one count money laundering.

Spokane County Sheriff's Office says there is at least $100,000 invested in a fraudulent account. They still have several more arrests to make at this point

UPDATE: Investigators say they went to three properties this morning. They are on their way to a 4th location now but will not give the address.

UPDATE: 2 women have been detained. SWAT will be going to other locations today with search warrants for ID theft and forgeries.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Deputy Craig Chamberlin with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office tells us the SWAT Team is serving at least two identity theft warrants right now. One of them is at Hartson and Altamont in Spokane. He's working to get more information. We'll update as soon as possible.
