DEVELOPING STORY: AK 47 Used In 2011 Bonnie Lake Homicide Found

Spokane County Sheriff Department Press Release:

Today, September 4, 2012, Spokane County Sheriff's Office Emergency Operations Team searched underneath TJ Meenach bridge for an AK-47 rifle that was used in a December, 2011 homicide in Whitman County.  Team members located a rifle matching the description under the bridge this morning in approximately eight feet of water.

  Through Whitman County's investigation, they developed information that the weapon used in the homicide was thrown over the bridge after the incident.  Team members preserved the weapon in a water container and Spokane County's Sheriff's Office Forensic Investigators will process the weapon for fingerprints.
