Des Moines Man Arrested For Rape Of A Child

PULLMAN, Wash. - On Sunday March 17th Pullman Police started an investigation into a sex offense. Reportedly, a male engaged into a 2 week long Internet conversation with a local 15-year-old female. The 36-year-old adult male traveled to Pullman where he met the juvenile female and rented a motel room. Several consensual sex acts reportedly took place on the night of March 15th. 

The adult suspect then traveled back to the Seattle area. Detectives were able to identify a suspect and traveled to his home town of Des Moines, Washington on Wednesday March 20th. 

Working with Seattle PD ICAC (Internet Crimes against Children Unit) and the Des Moines Police Department, a search warrant was served on a private residence and vehicle belonging to the suspect.  Electronic equipment was seized which be forensically inspected in the near future.

Walter M. Weeks III (10-19-76) was arrested for Rape of a Child Third degree and taken to the King County Jail. Pullman Detectives have returned to Pullman and are finishing the investigation.
