PRESS RELEASE FROM THE CITY OF SPOKANE: The City of Spokane's Community, Housing, and Human Services Board is developing a holistic program to serve families with children who face the potential of being removed from their families.
They are calling the project the Strong Families Initiative. To advance the project, the Community, Housing, and Human Services Department is seeking proposals from non-profit agencies to act as the lead agency for this Strong Families Initiative. Request for proposals (RFP) are due Friday, Feb. 22, no later than 5 p.m.
Funds for this proposal come from the City's Consolidated Homeless Grant (CHG) which are distributed by the Washington State Department of Commerce. $60,000 is available for this RFP. Proposals will be reviewed and scored by an proposal evaluation committee.
The Community, Housing, and Human Services Board will approve recommendations and anticipates presenting funding recommendations to the City Council in late March 2013. The City Council will make the final decision on funding.
A letter of intent to apply must be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before Friday, Jan. 18, at 5 p.m. The full RFP is available on the Community, Housing, and Human Services Department's website at http://www.spokanechhs.org/ Non-profit (including faith-based) agencies with 501(c)3 designation, are eligible to apply.
