City officials are currently studying the feasibility of turning Main Avenue in downtown Spokane in to a two-way street. The city says it's looking at the options to support downtown businesses and make it more friendly for people shopping & traveling downtown.
According to a city planning department traffic modeling study it found Main Avenue would support two-way traffic. The city says it has not fixed a budget or set a timeline for the potential project since it is in the early stages.
The city says if the feasibility study shows a viable option, the plan would go to the public for input then the city council for final approval.
