KHQ.com - For Dawn Lauder, the prospect of going back home to Canada without her dog was nearly too much to bear, given the recent loss of another one of her animals. But on Thursday, Dawn was reunited with 'Chloe' after she went missing earlier this week in Coeur d'Alene.
The female German shepherd had been missing since Monday after escaping from a pet boarding facility in Coeur d'Alene. The 2-year-old dog went missing not long after Lauder dropped it off for the night at Coeur d'Alene Pet Resort.
Chloe was found at Idaho and "C" Street late Thursday morning by an employee of the Coeur d'Alene Pet Resort.
"I'm overwhelmed by all the help I've received," Lauder said during a phone interview on KHQ.com's Noon NewsBreak. "I really want to thank everyone for their care and concern about my getting Chloe back.
Lauder planned an overnight stay in Coeur d'Alene after visiting family in Lewiston and was on her way back to her home in Fort Macleod, Alberta, about 100 south of Calgary.
Two months ago, a horse owned by Lauder was killed when it was struck by a truck. "I really don't know if I could have gone on if I'd have lost Chloe, too," an emotional Lauder told Dave Cotton when asked about the incident NewsBreak.
