SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - At least two suspects are in custody near Argonne and Knox in Spokane Valley Thursday afternoon. The southbound lanes of Argonne were closed at Knox but now they're opened.
Police tell us that the violent offender task force caught one of their targets. Repeat offender John Andersen was wanted for a Department of Corrections escape warrant. The task force has been tracking him for a couple of weeks now, and finally caught up to him at Argonne and Knox, where police tried to pull him over. Police say he was driving a stolen SUV. In an attempt to escape, Andersen rammed the SUV into an unmarked police car.
Two other people were also in the SUV. They have been detained for questioning.
