UPDATE:49 Degrees North Opens Today at 9!

SANDPOINT, Idaho - Schweitzer Mountain Resort will open for the season this Saturday, November 24th at 9am and operate Saturday and Sunday during the holiday weekend. Terrain will be available for all ability levels with the Basin Express and Musical Chairs lifts open.
These two chairs are scheduled to operate from 9am to 3:30pm during opening weekend. The resort will close down mid-week and then re-open on Friday, November 30 for the weekend, weather permitting.
For the weekend, lift tickets will be available at the reduced rate of $40 for everyone except for children 6 and under who ski free. For those individuals who only wish to ski on Musical Chairs tickets prices will be $25.
Schweitzer's Sunday-Friday passholders may also ski this Saturday at no charge. Sunday Solution will be available on Sunday, half day ticket are only $25 if purchased in advance online, or $35 at the ticket window.
Schweitzer has received 44 inches of natural snow so far this season, with 19 of those inches coming in the past three days.

Hello Mt. Spokane Friends and Family, The staff and I wish you the very best as you gather together for Thanksgiving tomorrow. We are all Thankful for your support of the Mountain! I wanted to give you an update on the status of opening the mountain. Right now, we are in a holding pattern. The last few days were warm and wet, and the lower elevations suffered from the "R" word (rain). We gained a few inches of snow this morning, but not enough to get us open Friday. The good news is, we have an ideal sub-base/base structure to build upon for the rest of the season. The next significant snow event looks to be Friday 2-4" and Friday night 3-7". If the higher end of those possibilities is realized we may be able to do a limited opening for Saturday and Sunday. Please check the website or the snowline before coming up, as we just won't know until we see it on the ground. We are all very excited to get the Mountain open and have everyone up to enjoy all the improvements that were made this summer! EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - Nearly 700 people went skiing and snowboarding Tuesday at Stevens Pass, the first ski area in Washington to open for the winter. Spokesman Chris Danforth told The Daily Herald (http://is.gd/FzjM8U) more lifts will open soon if the snow keeps falling. The Mount Baker and Crystal Mountain ski resorts are opening Wednesday and Missing Ridge on Friday.
