VANTAGE, Wash. - Grant County Detectives are investigating a case of a body found Saturday floating in the Columbia River south of the Vantage I-90 bridge. Around 6:00 p.m. Saturday August 25, a boater found a body floating in the Columbia River and notified authorities. Kittitas County Sheriff's Marine Units found the body on the Grant County side of the river about three-quarters of a miles south of the bridge. The body appears to have been in the water for a long time, and we are unable to determine the gender of the remains. It is not known how far the body traveled downstream. Due to the condition of the remains, the Coroner will send the body to the King County Medical Examiner for autopsy.
