COULEE CITY, Wash. - Grant County Deputies and Coulee City Police
are searching for a wanted felon who fled the scene of a shots fired call this
morning. Deputies and police were called at 5:30 a.m. today to a field
just west of 617 West Douglas Street in Coulee City. While on the way to the
call, police were told a wanted felon was possibly at the scene.
Arriving officers stopped a vehicle leaving the area and detained three
occupants of the car. Police then learned wanted felon Cody Seely, who was
nearby in or near a shanty-type building, had probably fled the scene on foot as
officers were stopping the car. Deputies believe several people were at
the site using drugs and shooting guns. It is not believed any person was
targeted and nobody was injured. A search warrant was being served late this
morning on the shanty building. Arrested for the shots fired incident
was Ryan Kantola, 25 of Ephrata, on suspicion of unlawful possession of a
firearm. He was lodged in the Grant County Jail. A 15-year-old male was arrested
on suspicion of felon in possession of a firearm. He was lodged in the Grant
County Youth Services facility. A 21-year-old female and a 15-year-old female
were questioned and released. Cody Seeley is sought by the U.S. Marshals
Task Force on a warrant for residential burglary. He is well-known in the Coulee
City area, and may be hiding out there. Seely is a while male, 24-years-old,
standing 5'7" tall, weighing 170 lbs. He has short brown hair and a goatee. He
was last seen wearing a green baseball cap, red and black plaid shirt, blue
jeans and cowboy boots. It is unknown if he is armed or if he
fired a gun during the Coulee City incident. Anyone with information on
Seely is asked to call 9-1-1. Citizens should not attempt to detain him.
The investigation continues.
