2nd Arrest In East Liberty Shooting

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police have arrested a second suspect in the shooting that sent two people to the hospital on Saturday. Police say that both of the suspected shooters have been arrested but they anticipate making more arrests in the case. 

The second person arrested for the shooting is Daniel J. Dublin for two counts of 1st degree assault. The additional arrests that police anticipate are related to an earlier assault.

SPOKANE, Wash. - UPDATE: Spokane Police Major Crimes detectives have made an arrest in the early morning shooting on East Liberty. Spokane Police converged on the area of the 300 block of E. Liberty around 4 am. Major Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting. Police say two people were transported to the hospital.

By Saturday afternoon police had identified the suspects in the shooting and arrested Phillip C. Ruiz, 23, for two counts of First Degree Assault. Detectives anticipate additional arrests will be made as the investigation continues.

Liberty was fully blocked at Lidgerwood because police say there are were multiple scenes.

Spokane Police continue to dedicate resources to a shooting that occurred overnight in North Spokane.  Patrol officers, Major Crimes (MCU) Detectives and Spokane Violent Crimes Gang Enforcement Team (SVCGET) detectives are in the process of applying for search warrants for two houses to gather additional evidence.

Detectives believe both victims and suspects may be gang affiliated, however the motivation for the incident is still under investigation.  Two men are being treated of gunshot wounds at a local hospital, both are in critical condition.
