Woman Paraded Around Topless By Police

KHQ.COM: Imagine a woman being arrested, paraded around topless and hogtied by an officer and then having her teeth knocked in against the ground. This is exactly what Ashleigh Davis of Ocala, Florida, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday for against Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Leesburg Police Department. After her humiliating arrest in April of last year, officers then left her in the holding cell half naked and completely ashamed as she watched them laugh at her.

Davis was arrested for her drunk, disorderly and violent actions while attending the Leesburg Bikefest when she began arguing with another woman. Her bikini top came off during the arrest and cops led her through the crowd topless and then through the police station topless.

Davis said her face was slammed into the floor after she bit an officer's hand while he tried to cover her mouth.

She admits her actions were deserving of an arrest but that a line was crossed with the way officers treated her.

Video from the police holding cell shows Davis surrounded by male officers while she lies topless, curled up on the floor.

Davis was charged with resisting arrest while violently intoxicated and two counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer. She is currently serving probation.

NBC affiliate WESH quoted Davis saying, "I don't want this to happen again. I want people to be treated the way we're supposed to be treated, and yes, I'm paying for what I did, and I want them to pay for what happened to me."

This story was filed and written by KHQ's Nichole Mischke.

What do you think?

Was Davis's disorderly conduct deserving of this type of treatment?
