UPDATE: Both Corey Bramble and Dereck Collinson are in critical condition. Bramble was upgraded from serious to critical earlier today.

PREVIOUS STORY:

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. - Two people were transported to the hospital after a high speed crash just off Interstate 90 in Liberty Lake early Thursday morning.

The Washington State Patrol reports that 31-year-old Dereck Collinson was driving a 2003 Ford Mustang. Idaho State Police tried to pull Collinson's vehicle over on the Idaho side of the stateline, but he refused to stop.

After reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, Collinson exited I-90 at Liberty Lake, blew through a stop sign, failed to negotiate a curve, and ended up rolling his vehicle several times at Harvard Road.

Collinson was ejected from the vehicle. His passenger, 29 year-old Corey Bramble, was not ejected because he was wearing a seatbelt.

Both were taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center and remain in serious condition.

It's not clear why the two were trying to get away from Law Enforcement, but both are expected to face criminal charges.
