UPDATE: Around 8:30pm Monday night officers responded to a shooting at 2500 W Boone. Upon arrival they found a male who had suffered a single gunshot wound to leg. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Initial information obtained indicated the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute although, the victim was not related to the shooter. The Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate the incident.
The suspect, 26-year-old Billy Wessels, was taken into custody just after midnight at a residence at 2300 W Sharp. He is being booked for 2nd Assault DV(2 counts) and one count of Felony Harassment (Threats to kill).
SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday night in west Spokane.
Police told KHQ that a man was shot in his leg at a home in the 2500 block of West Boone. His injuries are not life threatening.
Officers immediately set up a large perimeter to search for a suspect, but so far no one has been taken into custody. Witnesses told detectives they believe the shooting is related to some sort of domestic violence situation.
