UPDATE: New Year's Eve Shooting In Northeast Spokane

UPDATE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: With the community's help Spokane Police Detectives were able to contact the two men believed to be in attendance at the New Year's Eve drive-by shooting that left one woman injured. SPD Detectives talked to both Kurt Garber and Mychal Wahl and no arrests have been made. Detectives continue to investigate and gain more information about what  led up to the drive-by shooting as well as  who may have been involved.

Incident Information: On January 1, 2013, at 3:15am, Spokane Police officers responded to a shooting at 4207 N. Jefferson. The caller had heard numerous shots from a large party at the residence on Jefferson. When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old woman with at least one gunshot wound. Officers administered first aid and the victim was transported to a local hospital. The woman is in stable condition.

UPDATE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: Authorities are releasing the names of two suspects. They're identified as 23-year-old Kurt Garber and 23-year-old Mychal Wahl. They were last seen driving a white GMC Jimmy. The victim is listed in stable condition.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: Spokane Police were already investigating a deadly shooting in Northeast Spokane when another shooting erupted at a party in the Northwest side of town. 

Police were called to 4207 N Jefferson at 3:15 am, as witness' reported hearing 7-12 gunshots at the home. When police arrived they located an 18-year-old female with at least two gunshot wounds in the upper torso. 

Police quickly administered first aid for bleeding until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is listed as critical but stable. It is unclear if the shooting was a drive by or if the suspect was on foot as the shots were into the house from outside.

Spokane Police major crimes detectives are conducting further questioning of witnesses and investigation from the scene. At this time there is no information on a suspect or the cause of the shooting.

SPOKANE, Wash. - A woman in her late teens or early 20's is in a Spokane hospital in critical condition after police say she was shot in a drive-by shooting in North Spokane New Year's Day.

Spokane Police say the shooting happened just after 3:20am. The woman has not been identified. She was shot in the torso.

Police are waiting for a search warrant so they can search the house the woman was shot at.

Police don't know if she lived her. They also have not released a description of the suspect or the vehicle from the shooting.
