UPDATE: Man Stabbed 19 Times In Back & Neck Expected To Survive

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police say the man who was stabbed multiple times Tuesday evening has been upgraded at a local hospital and is expected to survive.

A police spokesman said the victim, who is in his 50's, suffered 19 stab wounds total in the back and neck. His injuries may also include a collapsed lung.

According to friends of the man, he was walking back from Walgreen's after buying a soda and at some point was attacked. However, because the victim could not communicate, police don't know exactly where the attack took place. They are hoping the victim will be able to help them piece together what happened Wednesday morning. No suspect has been identified, however police did say Tuesday night that they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no need for the public to be worried.
