RATHDRUM, Idaho - The man found this morning has been positively identified as David Edward Masten, 47. Masten reportedly lived in the area west of Rathdrum. His girlfriend called the Sheriff's Office after she got home from work.
The Sheriff's Office received several calls with possible identification and wants to thank the media and the public for their assistance.
Investigators will continue to understand how Mr. Masten ended up in the field on N. Chase Road earlier today. At this time, there does not appear to be an criminal activity involved with this incident.
KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho - The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office needs your help in identifying a man who was found about 9:00 a.m. today lying in a field near N. Chase Road and State Highway 53, west of the City of Rathdrum, Idaho. The unconscious man is reportedly in critical condition at Kootenai Medical Center. It is unknown how long he was lying in the field. He does not have any obvious signs of trauma.He is described as approximately 50 years of age, 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 10 inches with a slender build. He has brown hair and green eyes and only wearing dark colored sweat pants. He does not have any tattoos, but is missing the tip of his middle finger on his right hand.
