Moses Lake Police Department Press Release:
MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Friday night just before 10:00pm, Moses Lake Police officers responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in the Peninsula area of Moses Lake. When officers arrived they found two adult victims. After investigation, detectives found information that led them to arrest a 14-year-old. They were also able to recover a gun they believed was used in the assault.
Both victims were taken to an out of area hospital for treatment. At this time, the victims' names and conditions are not being released.
The name of the suspect has also not been released.
Moses Lake Police say more information will be available Monday morning.

MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Investigators with the Moses Lake Police Department are continuing to look into a shooting that happened Friday in Moses Lake. Details are still very limited, but it appears the shooter, who is in custody, is a student at the Moses Lake Christian Academy. The following message was sent out Saturday from the school to parents and students: This is a message from Stephanie Voigt and Brian Meiners to all students, parents and those who support the Moses Lake Christian Academy. We don't have much information to share right now, but we want to acknowledge that one of our students was involved in an off-campus shooting last night. The student was the shooter and he is in police custody. There are two victims who are hospitalized. We do not have information on their conditions, and in coordination with the Moses Lake Police Department, we will wait for the MLPD to release specific information on the investigation and the alleged crime. Our information will be coordinated with Moses Lake Police to make sure the investigation's integrity is sustained. We are directing the media to contact Moses Lake Police for information specific to the investigation. There is no risk to other students or the school. We are extremely saddened by this incident and we are praying for the student and the victims. We are a small school and everyone is extremely close, which is a blessing because that is one of the qualities which will help us all get through this tragedy. In addition, the MLCA high school dance which was scheduled for tonight has been cancelled in respect for those involved in the shooting incident. We will continue to share information throughout the day. The conditions of the two victims is unknown at this time. Police officers are still in the early stages of their investigation and would not confirm a location.
Two victims were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Officers are working to interview them now.
