UPDATE: Bomb Squad Responds To Walmart In Airway Heights

UPDATE: Authorities tell KHQ that a pipe sticking out of the ground is nothing to be alarmed about and that it's not a suspicious device. People that wanted to get into Walmart, Carls Jr and Taco bell were affected.

UPDATE: Bomb squad has now arrived on scene.

UPDATE: Authorities have told us they are currently waiting for the bomb squad to arrive to investigate the suspicious device. The object is described as a 10 inch pipe about 3 inches in diameter that appears to have been pounded into the ground in an island in the parking lot between the Carl's Jr. and Taco Bell. Businesses in the area have been alerted and the perimeter has been taped off.

BREAKING NEWS: A suspicious package has been found at the Walmart in Airway Heights. Authorities say there's some sort of pipe attached to it with PVC capping. The 911 call came in around 10am. So far there have been no evacuations.

We're working on getting you more details, as soon as we get them we'll post them here on KHQ.com, Facebook and our Twitter news feed.
