Two Idaho Deputies Shot After Cornering Suspect In Garage; SWAT Dispatched To Scene

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - Two Canyon County sheriff's deputies were shot and wounded while trying to locate a suspect wanted for an earlier crime in Caldwell. The suspect later shot himself.    Canyon County officials say one of the deputies was hospitalized in serious condition Wednesday while a second officer was treated for minor injuries and released. The condition of the suspect was not immediately known.    The 27-year-old man shot at the deputies trying to apprehend him west of Caldwell at about 11 p.m. Tuesday. He was cornered in a garage at about 3 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities say he shot himself when officers with a SWAT team confronted him.    The Canyon County Critical Incident Task Force is investigating, along with the Nampa Police Department.(Copyright 2012 The Associated Press.
