NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) - As Hurricane Sandy continues on a path toward the U.S. East Coast, it's left 39 people dead across the Caribbean.    The hurricane knocked out power, flooded roads and cut off islands in the Bahamas, where one death is reported. It earlier killed 11 people in Cuba. And as rain continues to fall in Haiti, reports of more deaths are emerging, with the toll reaching 25 today. Two other deaths were reported in Jamaica and in Puerto Rico, where a man was swept away by a swollen river today.    A spokesman for Haiti's civil protection office says some people died while trying to cross rivers swollen by the storm. Officials at a morgue say a woman and her four children died yesterday when a mudslide crashed through their home.    The storm is still more than 400 miles south-southeast of Charleston, South Carolina, moving to the north at about 7 miles an hour. Its top sustained winds are just barely at hurricane strength, 75 miles an hour.    It's projected to hit the Atlantic Coast early Tuesday and blend with a winter storm. Forecasters say most of the East Coast will almost certainly get gale-force winds, flooding, heavy rain and maybe snow.    A tropical storm watch has been issued from Savannah, Ga., to North Carolina's Outer Banks.
