Threat shuts streets around CNN; no bomb found

ATLANTA (AP) - Police say a caller demanded money and an airplane in a pre-dawn bomb threat that closed streets around CNN headquarters in downtown Atlanta for about two hours.

Officers searched inside and around the CNN Center but found nothing. The street blockade was lifted about 6 a.m. Friday.

Atlanta police said the caller said there was a chemical bomb at the center and wanted $15,000 and an airplane.

The CNN complex includes a large atrium with restaurants and stores and a connected hotel.

It wasn't known whether employees were evacuated. CNN representatives didn't immediately return phone calls.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is investigating.
