SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane firefighters responded to a house fire near the intersection of Jackson and Elm Friday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and an intense fire in the basement.
Firefighters were able to vent and eventually put out the fire. Residents say the fire started when they turned on their furnace. There is heavy fire damage to the basement and smoke damage to the rest of the house. Red Cross will be assisting the family.
Everyone was able to make it out safely.
