SPD Arrest Man With Stolen Gun After Leaving Accident

SPOKANE, Wash. - On October 4th 2012, at approximately 11:48, Detective Bill Marshall was driving northbound on Monroe approaching Boone Avenue when he witnessed a grey pick-up and a small blue car that looked to have been involved in an accident. When Detective Marshall went to approach the accident the grey pick-up proceeded to leave the scene of the accident without stopping. After a short pursuit, Detective Marshall and Spokane Police Patrol officers were able to catch up to the driver of the vehicle, convicted felon Joseph Travis Sizemore 9/02/1979.

Officers located a .22 caliber bullet, a .22 revolver, and methamphetamine. Follow-up investigation revealed that the firearm was stolen from a burglary on West Lyons earlier this month.

Mr. Sizemore was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm 2nd degree, Hit and Run attended with an injury, and Possession of a controlled Substance. Mr. Sizemore was held on $20,000 dollar bond.
