Sandpoint Man ARRESTED In Montana For N. Dakota Murder

BILLINGS, Mont. - On Monday a Sandpoint, Idaho man was arrested in Montana for allegedly murdering another man in North Dakota. 46-year-old Jonathan Horvath was arrested  in Billings, Montana. Authorities in Williston, North Dakota say Horvath shot and killed 28-year-old Derrick Spiegel.

Police say the incident happened early Saturday morning after an altercation outside of a Williston North Dakota bar. Spiegel was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.       Since the shooting authorities believed Horvath was on the run.

Monday afternoon investigators say their suspicions were confirmed when they found Horvath more than 300 miles away at home in Billings Montana. Police say he was arrested without incident. Williston police say Horvath recently moved to Williston from Sandpoint, Idaho.

KHQ confirms Horvath was arrested in 2005 in Kootenai County Idaho for being a fugitive from justice. However according to Idaho criminal records Horvath has no criminal history in the state.
