SPOKANE, WASH. - With November numbers not yet released, officials with the city of Spokane said today that through the end of October they have collected more than a million dollars off the red light cameras.
From Jan 1 through Oct. 31, 2012, they have collected $1.27 million through the photo red program.
They paid ATS (the contractor who operates the system) $457,000 for the same time period and another $85,000 for our own employees who manage the program on our end plus a few other miscellaneous expenses. Net revenue for 2012 (through the end of October) is just over $706,000.
The net revenue in 2011 was $352,000 and they used a portion of that money ($285,000) toward eight traffic calming projects in eight neighborhoods throughout the city. They will use the revenue from 2012 for the 2013 projects.
