SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police arrested a woman on Sunday after she allegedly sideswiped a car and wrecked hers while racing on a busy Spokane street.
It happened just before noon near the intersection of Mayfair and North Foothills Drive. Police say two Cadillacs were racing on North Foothills when one of the vehicles sideswiped a car that wasn't involved in the race and went off the road.
The driver of the Cadillac that crashed actually got out and fled the scene on foot. She was followed from the scene by an employee of an auto dealership right across the street from where the crash happened. The employee was able to lead police to the woman and she was arrested on scene.
The suspect was not identified, but police say she is in her late 20's, received minor injuries in the crash and along with charges coming from the collision, she also had a couple of unrelated warrants.
While police were able to arrest that woman, the second driver involved in the racing fled the scene after the crash and was not caught.
