Police: 4 family members dead in northern Va.

HERNDON, Va. (AP) - Police say four members of the same family have been found dead in a home in a Washington, D.C., suburb, but investigators are releasing few other details.

Fairfax County Police did say there is no threat to public safety Tuesday and that detectives were investigating.

Spokesman Eddy Azcarate says officers were called about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to check on the welfare of residents in the home in Herndon, Va., west of the nation's capital.

Police entered shortly after noon and found the bodies of a man, woman and two children.

In November 2000, a 47-year-old man shot his wife and two young daughters before killing himself in a Herndon home.
