Parents Of Child Faces Criminal Charges

MOSES LAKE - Parents of a three-year-old boy are facing charges for criminal mistreatment of a child.

Robert and Michelle Staats entered a not guilty plea in court on Tuesday.  The grant county prosecutor told us that if the baby boy were to pass away, he would recommend that the parents be charged with murder.

The child was taken to the hospital back in May with no heartbeat.  He was revived by doctors, and is now in a long-term care facility.

Their trial is set on January 9th for next year.
