COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The most destructive wildfire in Colorado history has been fully contained less than three weeks after it erupted.
A federal incident management team says the 29-square-mile Waldo Canyon Fire was completely encircled by Tuesday.
Officials say smoke may still be visible as areas inside the perimeter of the fire continue to burn.
The fire killed two people and destroyed nearly 350 houses when it burned into northwest Colorado Springs. The cause is still under investigation.
Two small fires were reported Tuesday in western Colorado.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (http://tinyurl.com/8ysut7q ) residents of nearly 550 homes in Mesa County have been told to be prepared to evacuate near a 20-acre wildfire.
The Craig Daily Press reports (http://tinyurl.com/bucnwj2 ) some structures have been threatened by a 100-acre fire in Moffat County.
