MOSES LAKE, Wash. - A 67-year-old Moses Lake man is in critical condition after a motorcycle collision Tuesday evening about eight miles north of Moses Lake. Cliff Nicholas was riding a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Stonecrest Road Northeast just west of Neppel Road Northeast around 8:50 p.m. Nicholas failed to negotiate a curve, lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown off into a field.
He sustained life-threatening injuries, was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital and later flown by MedStar to Providence-Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He is listed in critical condition with head and chest injuries. Drinking alcohol and driving appears to have contributed to the collision. Nicholas was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the collision. Grant County Deputies and the Grant County Motor Traffic Unit are investigating.
