Man charged with making threat before NYC flight

NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a New York man is in custody after he made a remark to another passenger at LaGuardia Airport that was perceived as a threat.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey identified the man as 30-year-old Samuel Aristil, of Spring Valley. He was charged Monday with making a terroristic threat and falsely reporting an incident.

Authorities say he was removed from the plane bound for Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and arrested.

A telephone number for Aristil couldn't be found.

Authorities say the Spirit Airlines flight had pushed off from a gate at around 11 a.m. Monday but had to be held on the tarmac. It took off after noon.
