Man Arrested In SWAT Standoff After Shooting Girlfriend In Face

SPOKANE, Wash – Joshua Graham, 30, is now in jail after a short SWAT standoff in North Spokane, after police say he shot his girlfriend in the face one week ago.

Police have been looking for him ever since, and the Spokane Police Anti-Crimes Team developed information Graham was at a home in the 1100 block of W. Cleveland this morning.  After doing surveillance, they confirmed he was there, and moved in.

The SWAT team and a K-9 unit were called in, and even as the SWAT team had their guns drawn, Graham refused to come out.

After a short standoff, he walked out of the home peacefully, and nobody was hurt.

But that wasn't the end of it; police also arrested a second man, who police say had a warrant out for his arrest for second-degree burglary.

A radius of roughly two blocks was blocked off during the SWAT standoff, leaving neighbors to wonder what was happening.

"I was trying to figure out what was going on or who these people were, I guess someone from the neighborhood knew the guy," said Dan Sexton, who lives nearby.  "They were hollering for the guy to come out, they were going to send in the dogs, and one guy came out, they wrapped him up, threw him in the back of the swat truck and cuffed him."

Amazingly, Graham's girlfriend survived after being shot in the face, and is even doing well enough she is home from the hospital.

Graham is expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday.  He's in the Spokane County Jail on $250,000 bond.
