KHQ.COM - This Saturday at 6:30 pm on KHQ, we will be airing a half hour special presentation highlighting a climb in memory of a missing father. 40 years ago this week Wally Somers went for a climb on Sloan Peak in Western Washington and never returned. All that was located was his vehicle at the trailhead. Searchers looked for him for weeks, but Wally's body was never found. At the time of his disappearance his two boys Dave and Steve Somers were four and six. Dave and Steve are now 44 and 46 and this summer they made it their mission to climb the mountain where their father disappeared. We were there for that powerful experience and we will air our special "The Climb For Closure" at 6:30 on KHQ on Saturday evening. We hope you can join us.
Dave is a photographer at KHQ TV, we thank him for allowing us to do this story.
