WAHA, Idaho (AP) - Northern Idaho officials say an 18-year-old Lewiston man was shot in the leg while driving when his .22-caliber pistol in the passenger seat discharged.
The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office tells the Lewiston Tribune that Stone R. Andersen told officials he was alone in the car on Friday and forgot to put the safety on when he finished shooting the pistol.
Authorities say Andersen was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
