Lewis-McChord Soldier Killed In Afghanistan Combat

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) - The Defense Department says an Army Ranger from Joint Base Lewis-McChord was shot to death in a firefight Friday in Afghanistan.    The 26-year-old from Long Beach, Calif., Sgt. Thomas MacPherson, was deployed with the 75th Ranger Regiment.    The News Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/TT42Jg ) he was on his fourth deployment to Afghanistan and had deployed once to Iraq.
