TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - The mother of three Ohio children who died in a murder-suicide had sought to have them back at her home after their grandmother had been caring for them.
Police say that's when the grandmother snapped, killing the three grandchildren and herself with the help of her 32-year-old son.
Toledo police say the bodies of the five were found Monday in a car, and they may have died of carbon monoxide poisoning. A truck was running with hoses leading from the exhaust into the car.
Authorities are awaiting autopsy results.
Police say letters found at the home indicate it was orchestrated by the grandmother and uncle.
A family disagreement over where the children should live erupted within just the past week, with police and children services workers being asked to intervene.
