During the afternoon snow bands near the Cascades push eastward & arrive into our area for the evening & overnight…expect a few inches by the morning…Low/High 25°/34° Sunday: Most kiddies should be waking up with a fresh 2"-4" coat of snow to entertain them…It's mostly cloudy for the day…Then, the first flakes from an even heavier round of snow is expected to arrive during the evening (Driving may be very wicked Monday)…Low/High 26°/32° Monday: Heavy snow during the morning…Accumulations of 1" per hour are possible with 6" piling up by noon in some areas…By midday & afternoon, snow transitions into rain & an absolute slushy mess for Spokane & Kootenai Counties. In the Palouse, this storm will bring treacherous freezing rain/icing conditions during the morning before becoming plain old rain…Low/High 28°/37° Holiday Travelers and Gonzaga fans: Best travel is Friday or early Saturday morning…Across the Cascade passes, be advised that 6"-8" of snow is forecast to begin Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning & 4"-6" in the Idaho passes.
