Job Title: EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES CALL RECEIVER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This job consists of answering emergency calls from citizens on 9-1-1 and Crime Check telephone lines.

You will determine the proper course of action applying established policies, procedures and statutes, and route calls to the correct dispatcher based on the nature and jurisdiction of the emergency. This position also includes reporting responsibilities.

Job requirements include:  High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of any combination of education, training and/or work experience providing evidence of the knowledge and abilities required for the position. 

Must be able to type a net 30 WPM, possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain Washington State Telecommunication 1 Certification and ACCESS Certification within prescribed time periods.

Excellent communication skills and ability to operate office equipment are also required. A pre-employment video exam is required as well as polygraph, hearing test, psychological evaluation, reference checks, and criminal background check.

The Spokane Area Workforce Development Council is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the complex fiscal and compliance functions of a dynamic local nonprofit.

This individual will be responsible for managing the organizations assets and funds received, and processing receivables and payables for an array of grants and sub grants. Responsible for the integrity of the principal fiscal systems of the Spokane Area Workforce Development Council, pursuant to Federal and State requirements and generally accepted accounting and reporting principles.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must be prepared and able to demonstrate the following qualifications at the time of referral:

-Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business/Public Administration, or related field

-Five (5) years paid progressive work experience that includes financial management, accounting and use of accounting software.

-Valid WA state driver license required.

-Creating and understanding budgets, expenditures, invoices and other complex accounting, calculating, synthesizing and analyzing data

-Knowledge and experience of both theory and practice of governmental or fund accounting, particularly as related to private non-profit operations.

-Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the reporting, administrative requirements of federally funded programs (i.e. principles of cost allocation, budgeting, evaluation, monitoring and compliance.

- Work independently with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, and utilize strong interpersonal skills. 

-Administrative, leadership, communication and organizational principals.

-Knowledge of and experience with computer and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, email, internet and specialized data base management systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Nonprofit/government accounting and experience with grant fund accounting desirable.

-MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.

-Strong management and supervisory experience.
