Gonzaga Fans Pack Local Eateries To Cheer On The Bulldogs

SPOKANE, Wash. - The NCAA Tournament is about the student athletes and the hard work they put into the game all season. Of course though, they can't do it without the fans.

It wasn't all cheers at Swinging Doors in north Spokane during the game Thursday afternoon.

The Southern University Jaguars somehow were able to claw their way back into the game each time the Bulldogs seemed to be pulling away.

That kept fans covered in navy blue and red on the edge of their seats, many peeking through their hands that their faces were buried in.

Eric Davidson and John Chapman were two of friends hanging on every moment, jumping and clapping with every Zag shot and slapping the table with each Southern three pointer.

Davidson, a recent graduate of Gonzaga, says there was no way he was going to miss the chance to watch the game surrounded by other fans.

Chapman says it was worth convincing his mom to let him skip class.

Zag nation now sets their sights on Wichita State in the next round of the NCAA tournament.

The 9th seeded shockers moved into the Third Round with a 73055 beat down of the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The game is set for 5:40pm Saturday in Salt Lake City.  TNT will carry the game.
