Former teacher, coach gets 50 years for SC abuse

By BRUCE SMITHAssociated Press
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A former South Carolina teacher and coach has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to nearly two dozen child sex charges.
Louis "Skip" ReVille was sentenced Wednesday by a circuit judge in a case that came to public attention about the same time as the Penn State sex abuse case.
ReVille worked at schools, camps, churches and recreation programs in the Charleston area and was arrested last fall. He pleaded to 22 counts involving victims dating back a decade
Several victims have brought civil lawsuits against The Citadel, the prominent military school where ReVille once worked as a counselor in a summer camp that no longer operates. The plaintiffs contend the school was notified about ReVille and should have contacted authorities.
