The End Of An Era Has Come For Two Loyal Spokane Police Canines

SPOKANE, Wash. - Stryder and Duke are two Spokane police canines whose time of duty and service to Spokane, is coming to an end.

Combined, both Stryder and Duke have 16 years experience, and have apprehended an estimated 1,100 criminals.

The two officers who have had the privilege to work with Stryder and Duke will now be working with 14-month-old Talon, and 4-year-old Cruz.

These dogs have thousands of hours of training ahead of their long career.

When an S.P.D. canine retires from the force, it usually ends up living with the officer that it worked with. Not as a partner, but as a pet.
