Deputies Shoot, Kill Man In Stevens County

VALLEY, Wash. - The Spokane Investigative Regional Response Team is assisting the Stevens County Sheriff's Office with the investigation of an officer-involved shooting that happened Friday night. 

A press release issued by the Stevens County Sheriff's Office says that at around 10:50 p.m. Friday, the dispatch center received a call from a suicidal male in the 3600 block of Deer Creek Road, just north of Springdale. Deputies arrived on scene, a shot was fired, and the man was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A firearm was recovered at the scene. 

The deputies were not injured in the incident. 

The deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave.
