Dad of suspect in Colorado girl's death speaks

DENVER (AP) - The father of a teen accused of killing a 10-year-old Colorado girl is asking for prayers for the girl's family.

Rob Sigg issued a written statement Thursday saying there are no words to express the sorrow he and his family feel for the pain Jessica Ridgeway's family is suffering, and that his family is devastated by the knowledge that his 17-year-old son, Austin Sigg, has been arrested in her death.

Rob Sigg says it's a tragedy for both families, as well as for the community.

Austin Sigg's parents are divorced. His mother, Mindy Sigg, told The Associated Press her son turned himself in after she called police.

Rob Sigg asked for support for Austin's mother, saying her courageous act has put the tragedy on the path to resolution.
