Clarkston School District Press Release:

CLARKSTON, WA - A teenage student attending the Educational Opportunity Center in Clarkston School District was escorted from the campus today by police.  The Clarkston School District followed standard arrest protocols for removal of a student from a school campus in collaboration with the Clarkston Police Department. On January 21, the district and police department worked in conjunction to intervene with the same student on a non-school related matter that occurred Monday evening.  This information led officers to work with the district staff to locate the student at the Educational Opportunity Center this afternoon.  While following district and police department procedures, police escorted the student from district property in order to search the student.  While searching, the Clarkston Police Department discovered an unloaded .22 caliber automatic handgun in the student's possession, along with an illegal switchblade knife.  There was no ammunition on the student and no threats were made to students or staff.  The student was immediately taken into police custody and has been booked into juvenile detention on multiple charges.  The student is a juvenile and no further information regarding the student's identity is being released at this time.
